Reviews for Bistro Vukusic
Review highlights
Based on 2,047 reviewsBistro Vukušić is widely recognized for its generous portions and a menu that highlights fresh seafood and "homemade" style dishes. Many patrons praise the quality of the food and wine, often noting the excellent value offered, particularly for fish specialties and traditional bistro fare. The atmosphere is described as lively and welcoming, with attentive and friendly service even during busy periods. However, some guests have expressed occasional inconsistencies in certain dishes, such as texture and cooking precision. A notable point of contention relates to portion sizes versus pricing, especially concerning seafood, where there have been reports of perceived discrepancies. Overall, Bistro Vukušić maintains a strong reputation as a popular dining spot in Zagreb's east side, appreciated for its vibrant environment, robust flavors, and solid service, though occasional variations in food preparation and pricing practices have been observed.
First time here, heard many great things about this restaurant. 3 of us ordered two types of fish, and received what you can see in the photos. Which was fair enough, but got shocked when we saw the bill. We were charged 3kg of fish, 240€, but there was barely 1kg on that plate. The food is excellent, and the wine was also great. Other prices are normal but the fish fiasco leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
Great seafood. Friendly staff. Eventhou place was extremly packed service was good. Excellent value for money
Delicious "homemade" food in huge portions. Good wine and great service.
Great bistro, food very good. Value excelent, I would say best in the city. Portion size enormous. Especially liked the fish pate. One star missing since osso bucco needed more cooking and thicker sauce and the risotto did not fulfil the definition of risotto it is actually rice with meat. Sea fish really amazing. If they have adriatic squid go for it!
Well known and highly recognisable place in the east side of town for short or business lunches. Known for good food and good atmosphere. My visit there last week was a bit disappointing from the food perspective. Maybe it was the choice of food which is not my favourite (I was part of the group and I couldn't chose) but the taste was not as I (or people in the group) had hoped for. Everything else was on the high level as expected
Stumbled on this place as we were visiting the brewery nearby. Really glad we found this as it seemed like an area that tourists don’t usually visit. Walked in without a menu available and everything our server recommended was delicious. For starters we had an octopus and potato salad in olive oil, and an octopus goulash with pasta. The tomato goulash was full of fresh flavors and I still crave it till today. Octopus was tender and done into perfection For mains we were recommended some grilled squid and fish. The charred flavors were great and everything tasted fresh. Even the Schnapps, bread and spreads were thoroughly enjoyed by us. Wish we had room for dessert!
The place is decent and hidden but definitely worth of visit
